It was 6:20 when we enter the lecture hall and we still had 10 minuites more to prepare for the class. While friend of mine reviewing the previous lecture that he had, I looked around the room and imagined how it would be incredible if I become one of the York university's students.
Actually I didn't count all of students who's having seat in the lecture room, but could estimate that it would be 50 or 60 people. Mostly they had notes and pens but some brought their lap top computers and doing something with it.
Few minuites later an old indian lady came in and starts to talking about when the mid-term exam will be held and what would be on the test. while I was giggling at her weird 'R' sounds, my friend was taking a note of "20 multiple choices, cover 1-6 chapter....." on his reminder with a serious look.
Soon the lecture started and when the professor's speaking got faster and faster students were busy at taking notes and reading the textbook by turns . As the lecture was for juniors and seniors I could not follow most of the contents but bit happy with finding out a few familiar words like " inflation, coupon, interests, liqudity"any way.
One thing that I impressed during this lecture was, seeing several students asking questions and giving their opinions to professor if things were not fully understanded and her giving feedback to them until they were satisfied with it, somehow I could feel the air more natural and less nervous compared to my previous university.
Finally, the lecture was over and we came out of the 'Tell building room0010'. Although the lecture ran hour and a half without break, I wasn't that tired and the funny thing is that, recgonizing few words was all that I did at the lecture, my friends told me I took quite organized note ,especially adding graphs made him suprised.

You have some very good observations here about what happens in the lecture; it is always useful to write down, in English, how the experience compares and/or contrasts with university lectures you have seen before, in your own country. It is also useful to write down descriptions of the professor and the students.
This way, at least, when you go to university yourself, you won't be going into a world you have never seen before. It can make a big difference if you are just a little bit more relaxed at the start.
Are your friends business majors? What other courses do they take?
